Sylvia Wooller
MSc Environmental Architecture (Centre for Alternative Technology), MArch, BScArch (UIUC), LEED AP
Sylvia’s boundless optimism and passion are grounded by a well-rounded knowledge, experience and remarkable sense of frugality–no doubt borne of her immigrant background. Her desire to make every choice as environmentally sustainable as possible has evolved from summers in Poland on her grandparents’ urban farm. Sylvia co-founded REMAKE ARCHITECTURE after a significant career in environmentally conscious architecture, which she deems should be commonplace in architectural education and practice. Past employment has seen Sylvia on various high profile construction sites, but she professes that her favorite job was a summer post in a garden center. Most recently, as Senior Sustainability Consultant in London, Sylvia worked on diverse projects such as Britain's most sustainable supermarket, energy monitoring and post occupancy evaluations, and developing an Eco-town, resulting in her colleagues awarding her the intra-office 'Green Giant' award. When not out saving the world, Sylvia can be found in her garden saving spider web-entangled honeybees.
